- I spent a few more minutes with the Sound
Canvas 8850 tonight and made some progress. Now this is with
my i577. I haven't taken it over to the church yet (T957).
Here's what you need to do to make it work (just in case you
can pass this on to someone else who needs help):
1. You need to be sure your MIDI/ORCH tabs are set to MIDI.
2. You need to leave the MSB set at 0, but make sure to change
the LSB to 1.
3. You need to configure each MIDI tab (gr sw pd) to REC ONLY.
If not you'll hear an annoying piano on all the manuals.
4. On the 8850 itself the Part # indicates the division. GR is
equivalent to Part 001; SW to Part 002, and PD to 003. This is
just in case you want to see on the 8850 what you have selected
on what manual/division.
5. You can choose your tone either using the number value on
the organ tab (press set and touch top part of tab so it blinks
and then find PRG number using knob). If you know that 52 is
Synth Strings 2, you can crank it up to 52 using the alpha dial.
The 8850 will follow.
Or, you can change it on the 8850 and the organ will follow.
Next time you press the MIDI tab, you'll be set up with what
you have showing on the 8850.
Lastly, you can choose your MIDI part when the tab is flashing
by pressing one of the keys on the keyboards.
